We’ve done it!

Together we raised £66,000 in 2024!

In 2024 we set out to raise £53,000 to purchase a “Single Balloon Entero-scope” for the Leicester Royal Infirmary, albeit by the end of the year the cost of this equipment had increased to £66,000.

With funds carried forward from 2023, added to the proceeds from our 2024 Challenges (Battle of Bosworth, Malvern Hills, annual Netball Competition) and other donations, we raised £34,500 towards this challenging goal. Last November, we set up a meeting with the Hospital Charity to explore what options may be available for us to work in partnership to raise the additional £31,500.

Thanks to the excellent partnership that Brown Dog has with Leicester Hospital Charity and the Leicester Hospital Trust, they agreed to dedicate all the funds they hoped to receive from their planned 2024 Christmas Appeal to our campaign. In December the Christmas Appeal was launched and by January this year, an amazing £33,000 was raised.

Thanks to Brown Dog  and the Leicester Hospital Charity working together to achieve a common goal, I’m absolutely delighted and proud to announce that together we have raised the  £66,000 required to buy the Entero-scope.

This equipment will make a profound difference to the gastronomy unit, particularly in providing more accurate and improved diagnostics in Leicester, instead of Sheffield where current patients have to travel (but won’t need to anymore).

Brown Dog would like to once again thank you for supporting us on this campaign and thank everyone else who supported the Hospital Christmas Campaign 2024.

We are certainly very proud  of this achievement, as we are with the £716,478 that we have raised since we were formed in 2000 and proud of the 89 projects we have supported on our journey, that has helped thousands of people fighting cancer and extended/saved hundreds of lives.

Thank you.
